Product Description & User Guide
The 9Barista Espresso Machine is a premium coffee maker brand from the UK. This brand was founded by William Playford, a jet engine engineer with a deep passion for authentic Italian coffee. Thanks to his expertise and love for coffee, William Playford created a revolutionary espresso maker that has made waves in the coffee machine market – the 9Barista Espresso Machine.
The core of the 9Barista lies in its uniquely designed dual-boiler system, which consists of:
- A high-pressure boiler that generates intense heat
- A secondary boiler that regulates temperature
When water is heated in the high-pressure boiler, it reaches 179ºC (354ºF) along with 9 bars of pressure, causing the spring valve to compress and allowing water to flow into the cooling coil.
As the water moves through the cooling coil, its temperature drops to 100ºC (212ºF) while maintaining 9 bars of pressure. It then passes through heat dissipation fins, further cooling it down to 93ºC (199ºF).
Finally, the pressure and temperature are precisely controlled as the water passes through the coffee grounds. The result? A perfect espresso shot with a thick and creamy crema.
Key Features of the 9Barista Espresso Machine
- Impeccable craftsmanship and sturdy build – The 9Barista has a solid, heavy feel, weighing approximately 1.7kg (3.75 lbs). Its components are cast from brass, machined using a vibrating process, and hand-polished. It is then nickel-plated to ensure food-safe contact, a glossy finish, and exceptional durability.
- Compatible with multiple stovetops (except induction) – Compact and versatile! The 9Barista works on gas stoves, infrared cookers, halogen stoves, and more.
- Designed & manufactured in The UK – The 9Barista is entirely designed and produced in the United Kingdom, and all units are shipped directly from the company’s headquarters in Cambridge.
- Outstanding espresso quality – Thanks to its precise pressure and temperature control, the coffee produced has a rich, velvety crema comparable to that of a professional café.

Important Notes for Using the 9Barista Espresso Maker
- Brewing time should be between 5-6 minutes. Choose a stove with sufficient power to complete the process within this timeframe. If the power is too low, the brewing time will be prolonged, which can negatively affect both flavor and the lifespan of the coffee maker. A brewing time that is too fast may cause the rubber gasket to overheat and wear out prematurely.
- If the silicone gasket gets damaged due to overheating (e.g., forgetting to turn off the stove), don’t worry! The 9Barista package includes a spare gasket. If the external pressure valve malfunctions, we also have replacement parts available.
- Maximum water capacity: 120ml. You don’t need a scale to measure the exact amount—there is a max fill line inside the base. Simply fill the water until it reaches this mark. When assembling the parts, ensure that no water spills over.
- After brewing, the 9Barista remains very hot. If you want to quickly prepare a second cup, rinse the coffee maker under cold water, then pull the safety valve outward to release all remaining pressure inside the boiler. Once depressurized, you can safely open, clean, and refill the coffee maker for another brew.
